About us
Ted Dinklo and Paul Francissen founded publicroam in 2017. Because guest wifi can be so much better, in museums, libraries, healthcare institutions, community centers, workplaces, etc.
Ambition
Publicroam ensures that people can connect easily and securely in as many places in the Netherlands as possible — in a privacy-friendly way.
Independent
We focus on wifi access, nothing else. We are independent of network and hardware suppliers. That’s why we work with open standards.
Founders
Ted Dinklo (1970) – Works as an independent advisor guiding digital transitions in the public sector. In his earlier work as a government advisor in Afghanistan, East Timor, and Bougainville, he saw the importance of reliable internet. This inspired him to work on trustworthy internet access for everyone.
Paul Francissen (1968) – Works as an independent advisor at the intersection of digital services and social innovation. He specializes in digital accessibility and is also committed to digital privacy. Previously, he founded govroam, a wifi roaming service for the government. From this, publicroam was born in 2017.
