Privacy and data processing
Publicroam respects your privacy
Publicroam provides access to guest Wi-Fi — we don’t trade in data. We store as little information as possible and keep it only for as long as necessary. Anything we record is used solely to ensure the service works properly. No advertising, no user profiles, no hidden tracking.

What we collect
To provide visitors access to participating guest Wi-Fi networks, we register a personal account based on a mobile number and an email address. We also record usage data. We need this information to deliver the service, provide support and improvements, monitor usage (in aggregate), and prevent abuse.
We store data temporarily. Usage data is retained for a maximum of three months. Account data is kept for as long as an account exists, up to six months after termination. All data is stored on servers within Europe.
Arrangements are laid down in data processing agreements with participating organisations. These cover, among other things, the purpose of processing, sub-processors, processing locations, retention periods, data security, and breach notification.

You stay anonymous as a visitor
Visitors who use publicroam remain anonymous. The data that publicroam exchanges with participating guest Wi-Fi networks cannot be directly traced back to a person. Participating organisations therefore cannot infer, for example, a mobile number or email address from it.
All participating organisations endorse publicroam’s privacy statement. They may not track publicroam users, send advertisements, or approach users in other ways. They may apply passive network restrictions, such as automatically filtering or blocking websites, or limiting bandwidth per user. Read more in our privacy statement
